Nancy Herrera, RMHCI
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Nancy Herrera is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at Behavioral Turning Point in Miami. She earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity International University and holds certifications in Mental Health Coaching, Trauma-Informed Care, and Grief and Loss, along with specialized training in anxiety and depression.
Nancy works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Many of her clients come to her during a hard stretch: a move, a divorce, the loss of someone close, or stress that has built up over time and started to affect sleep, work, school, or relationships. Others have lived with anxiety or low mood for years and want to finally understand it and feel better.
Her approach is person-centered and integrative. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients notice and change the thought patterns that keep them stuck, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills for handling intense emotions, the Adlerian framework to explore how family and social roles shape the way a person sees themselves, and mindfulness practices clients can use between sessions. She adjusts the mix to each person rather than following a script.
With children and teens, Nancy keeps sessions practical and age-appropriate and involves parents so progress continues at home. With adults, she focuses on building resilience, setting realistic goals, and helping clients recognize the strengths they already have.
Nancy provides therapy in English and Spanish, in person at our Kendall office and by telehealth anywhere in Florida, under the clinical supervision of our licensed staff.
“If you’re ready to begin your journey toward better mental health, I would be honored to work with you. Please reach out to schedule a consultation — I’m here to support you every step of the way.”
