HOW DO I KNOW

In the same manner that we recognize when our physical body needs attention by experiencing symptoms, we also must learn to recognize symptoms of when our mental health needs attention. Our mental health suffers emergencies and crisis that we know has an impact on our daily lives, but it can actually have an impact on our physical health as well.

Treating mental health conditions starts off by recognizing them. One easy way of doing this is asking yourself

- How am I feeling? -  because that's what "Mental Health" means at its core. It's how you are feeling. These feelings stem from emotions that translate into behaviors. The problem is that these feelings can trigger untreated emotions to manifest with a response of incorrect and dangerous behaviors towards others or towards ones self. An example of how they can surface is in uncontrolled anger, rage, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, eating disorders and many more. The behaviors are not always obvious with giant outbursts or violent rage, they can be subtle and seemingly unassociated which means we have to pay close attention to them. So what do you do if you recognize some of these things you are reading, or what if you can't quite put your finger on it but you know something doesn't seem or feel right? This is where we can help.
